Rancho Camulos to Be Honored at 2026 Preservation Awards on May 11

PIRU — Rancho Camulos Museum will be recognized on Monday, May 11, as one of Ventura County’s 2026 Historic Preservation Award recipients, according to county government documents. The Ventura County Cultural Heritage Board selected the museum for “Excellence in the Promotion and Implementation of Historical Programming,” as stated in Resolution No. 2026‑6, approved at the board’s April 27 public hearing.

The award will be presented during the county’s 2026 Preservation Awards Ceremony, scheduled for 1:15 p.m. at the Ventura County Government Center’s Hall of Administration in the Lower Plaza Assembly Room.

Rancho Camulos, located at 5164 E. Telegraph Road in Piru, is a designated National Historic Landmark known for preserving the heritage of the original 19th‑century del Valle ranch. County officials noted in the resolution that the museum’s educational programs and preservation work contribute to public understanding of Ventura County’s historical resources.

The ceremony is part of Preservation Month, observed each May across Ventura County.
