United Water Conservation District has issued its current operational status for Lake Piru, including boat ramp availability, day‑use access, camping, and personal watercraft limits. These updates reflect the latest conditions for recreation in Piru Canyon.
Boat Ramp Status
- Juan Fernandez Boat Ramp: Open
- Main Boat Ramp: Closed
- Reasoner Boat Ramp: Open
Visitors launching vessels should use the open ramps listed above. Ramp availability may change based on lake levels and maintenance schedules.
Personal Watercraft (PWC) Limits
Lake Piru continues to enforce a limit of 20 personal watercraft on the water at one time. This limit is part of the lake’s standard operating rules to support safety and reduce congestion.
Shoreline and Water Access
The south end of the lake near Santa Felicia Dam remains closed past the 5 mph buoy line. All other standard boating zones remain available unless otherwise posted by lake staff.
Day‑Use and Recreation
Day‑use areas, picnic sites, and shoreline access remain open during regular operating hours. Visitors are encouraged to check posted signage for any temporary restrictions.
Camping and Rentals
Camping, kayak rentals, and general recreation services are currently available. Availability may vary based on demand and maintenance activity.
Additional Information
United Water Conservation District recommends that visitors review current lake rules before arriving and remain aware of posted notices at the entrance station and boat ramps.
