Santa Clarita Planning Commission to Review Golden Valley Mixed‑Use Proposal on May 19

The Santa Clarita Planning Commission is scheduled to review the Golden Valley Road Mixed‑Use Project during a public hearing on Tuesday, May 19, at 6 p.m. The meeting will take place in the City Council Chambers at Santa Clarita City Hall, located at 23920 Valencia Boulevard.

The proposal covers approximately 28 acres at the northwest corner of Golden Valley Road and Sierra Highway. According to the city’s agenda materials, the project includes a mix of residential and commercial components designed for a range of community needs.

The development plan under consideration includes a four‑story, 60‑room hotel; a four‑story, 151‑room assisted‑living facility; and 73 age‑qualified condominium townhomes for residents 55 and older. The townhomes are planned as two‑story units arranged in clusters throughout the site.

To move forward, the applicants are requesting several approvals, including Architectural Design Review, a Conditional Use Permit, Development Review, Hillside Development Review, a Minor Use Permit, and a Tentative Map. These actions would allow the project to proceed through the city’s development process if approved.

The Planning Commission will hear a staff presentation, take public comment, and consider the requested entitlements before making a decision or continuing the item to a future meeting. All meeting materials, including staff reports and project documents, are available through the city’s public meeting portal.

The hearing is open to the public, and residents may attend in person or submit comments through the city’s established participation channels.
