A child was transported to the hospital Monday afternoon after a vehicle‑pedestrian collision near Sulphur Springs Elementary School in Canyon Country, according to information published by The Santa Clarita Valley Signal.

The incident occurred on the 16600 block of Lost Canyon Road, where L.A. County Fire Department crews were dispatched at 3:17 p.m. Fire officials told The Signal that two patients were transported from the scene. No details regarding the severity of injuries were immediately available.

The collision happened near the school’s pickup corridor, an area that typically sees heavy traffic during afternoon dismissal. Deputies with the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department’s Santa Clarita Valley Station responded to assist at the scene.
