The Workforce Development Board of Ventura County (WDBVC) has been honored with the 2026 WIOA Trailblazer Award, a national distinction presented annually by the National Association of Workforce Boards. The award recognizes one workforce board each year for excellence in strategic planning, labor‑market forecasting, and community partnership development.
WDBVC was selected from more than 570 workforce development boards nationwide, highlighting Ventura County’s leadership in building strong regional partnerships with employers, educational institutions, labor organizations, and nonprofit agencies. These collaborations support job training programs, youth workforce services, career pathways, and employer‑focused initiatives that strengthen the county’s economic resilience.
Executive Director Rebecca Evans said the recognition reflects the shared commitment of local partners working to expand opportunities for residents and businesses. “Our community shows every day what is possible when employers, educators, nonprofit partners, and local leaders come together with a shared commitment to lifting people up,” Evans said.
The award was presented during the National Association of Workforce Boards’ 2026 forum, where Ventura County was recognized for its long‑term planning and innovative workforce strategies. WDBVC continues to connect job seekers with local employers while helping businesses address workforce needs through training, resources, and regional collaboration.
