Truck 29 Temporarily Operating Out of Fillmore as New Santa Paula Station Nears Completion

Ventura County Fire Department’s newest aerial apparatus, Truck 29, is now temporarily operating out of Fire Station 27 in Fillmore while construction continues on the new Santa Paula Fire Station 29. The 100‑foot tractor‑drawn aerial ladder truck was placed into service on May 27, 2026, expanding the department’s technical rescue and elevated firefighting capabilities in the Santa Clara River Valley.

Truck 29 is a Rosenbauer-built aerial unit designed for structure fires, high‑reach operations, and complex rescue scenarios. The department added the truck following recommendations from the Citygate Standards of Cover study, which identified the need for an aerial resource dedicated to the Santa Paula–Fillmore region.

Although the truck is ultimately assigned to Santa Paula, the size of the apparatus requires a larger bay than what is currently available. Until the new Station 29 is completed, the truck and its crew will continue responding from Fillmore, providing coverage to both communities and surrounding unincorporated areas.

The Ventura County Fire Department stated that the temporary assignment ensures the new aerial capability is available to the region immediately rather than waiting for construction to finish. Once the Santa Paula station opens, Truck 29 will relocate to its permanent home.
