Copper Fountain Theft Suspect Arrested at The Collection in Oxnard

Oxnard police arrested a 45-year-old woman on May 13 in connection with the theft of a handcrafted copper fountain valued at about $35,000 from The Collection at RiverPark, according to a statement from the Oxnard Police Department.

Police said the fountain, described as an original art piece, was taken in two separate incidents on February 3 and February 15. Investigators reported that portions of the fountain had been dismantled to make them easier to remove.

According to the department, the suspect transported pieces of the copper fountain to a local recycling center, where the material was processed. Detectives from the Neighborhood Policing Team led the investigation with assistance from the Violent Crimes Unit.

Booking and court information were not immediately released.

Police said the investigation is ongoing and additional arrests are possible.
