Navy EA‑18G Jets Collide at Mountain Home Air Show; All Four Crew Members Eject Safely

MOUNTAIN HOME, Idaho — Two U.S. Navy EA‑18G Growler jets collided during a demonstration flight at the Gunfighter Skies Air Show on Sunday, prompting a lockdown at Mountain Home Air Force Base and the cancellation of the event. All four crew members ejected safely, according to officials.

The aircraft were performing a scheduled demonstration when they made contact roughly two miles northwest of the base. Videos shared by spectators showed the jets coming together in flight before descending toward the ground. Four parachutes were visible shortly after the collision.

Emergency crews responded to the crash site, where both aircraft were destroyed. Officials said all four aircrew members were located and evaluated by medical personnel.

Mountain Home Air Force Base issued a shelter‑in‑place order for attendees immediately after the incident and later canceled the remainder of the air show. Local authorities also asked the public to avoid the area while response teams worked at the scene.

The EA‑18G Growler is a two‑seat electronic‑warfare aircraft used by the U.S. Navy for radar suppression and electronic attack missions. The jets involved in Sunday’s incident were assigned to the Navy’s Growler demonstration team.

The cause of the mid‑air collision remains under investigation.
